The Rouge Electric Vehicle Centre was constructed almost a year ago. The truck has already received more than 150,000 reservations till now and is aimed at the heart of the U.S. The estimated driving range of the truck would be around 300 miles. The F-150 Lightning would start at a price of $40,000. It has also decided to invest another $250 million and hire more than 400 people for its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center and Rawsonville Components Plant. For the final models from 2001 to 2004, the power was up further to 380 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.Ford Motor Company has recently rolled out the first pre-production of its F-150 Lightning Truck in the U.S. All-in, the truck produced 360 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque for the 19 model years. Based around the tenth-gen F-150, this had a 5.4-liter V8 with an Eaton Gen IV supercharger and water-to-air intercooler. But Ford would go one step further, and bring out a second-generation SVT Lightning four years after the last of the first generation. Performance was impressive, the 0-60 mph time just seven seconds, and it had a top speed of 110 mph. ![]() The first generation had a 5.8-liter 351 Windsor V8 under the hood with 240 hp and 340 lb-ft of torque. The F-150 SVT as it was also called was a wild and powerful truck that became a serious rival to the GMC Syclone, another of the greatest performance trucks ever made. But the original Ford F-150 Lightning was an unsung performance truck of the 1990s. The Lightning name is of course a reference to electricity, and Ford has produced a very capable and purposeful truck. One criticism you could level of the current F-150 Lightning is that it doesn’t stay true to its name. The excitement around the truck is certainly building, especially with the potential name for it now trademarked by the Blue Oval. ![]() A huge splitter, rear wing, and carbon fiber bodywork would certainly be what you’d expect from such a truck. However, looking at the various other demonstrators that Ford has built, we can expect it to be a dramatic-looking pickup. All we have to go on so far is that basic silhouette of the production F-150 Lightning. But Ford really has revealed very little about Red Bull’s involvement.Įqually, there are no hints as to what the truck might look like. Given the wacky aero that the SuperVan and Mach-E 1400 both have. We would be surprised if Newey didn’t have any involvement with the pickup truck. No details on where various components will be built, or if Adrian Newey may have some input on the design. ![]() While the prospect of such a pickup truck with Red Bull input is exciting, Ford is being coy about how much involvement Red Bull will have with it.
